Swaying forwards, swaying back
My weight rolls from ball to heel
Back and forth in my dark black
Shoes so comfortable.

Mind sways in the very same motion
Thoughts and feelings come to front
Important for a moment,
But not to be held very long.

Sticks float downstream like thoughts
A hummingbird appears like happiness
A leaf falls like pain
The rain falls like tears
A star falls like love
A volcanoes errupts like anger
A whale jumps out of the sea
And the most beautiful things are made
Beautiful by their temperance.

This too shall pass; pass beautifully
And the ferry’s tempo will sway
